The rich legacy of Stella Artois dates back to 1366 in Leuven, Belgium. Now, that world-renowned brewing tradition is coming here.
With respect for its over 600-year brewing legacy and it increasingly becoming a favourite around the world, Stella Artois is carefully expanding where it is brewed globally, and we are extremely proud that Canada has been chosen as one of those countries.
Working alongside experienced Stella Artois brewers, our skilled Canadian brewmasters will use the same brewing process that has been used to brew Stella Artois for years, ensuring that Stella Artois’ quality and Belgian roots remain present in every bottle. They’ll continue the tradition of using only the finest natural ingredients: water, barley malt, hops, and Stella Artois’ unique yeast strain – a much-cherished secret that has been kept throughout the years. And experienced taste panels will ensure that Stella Artois’ signature taste will remain as satisfying as always.
The brewing expansion will include a significant capital investment to outfit our breweries to brew Stella Artois according to its traditional brewing process and to the same high standard Canadians have come to expect. An additional benefit from new efficiencies will be the reduction of our carbon footprint, which contributes to global warming.
Served in its green glass bottle or unique chalice, Stella Artois is specially brewed as an authentic Belgian lager beer, with a floral hop aroma, well-balanced fruity malty sweetness, crisp hop bitterness and a soft dry finish. Now, more Canadians than ever will be able to experience Stella’s tempting allure and exquisite flavour.
