"Be the kind of host who prepares ahead of time so that your gathering can be relaxed. One fun way to prepare is gather some of your closest friends to help with the set up—and make the preparations as fun as the actual party itself."
Hosting a party or barbecue at your home can be stressful—it requires a lot of tasks and usually not a lot of time to get them done. Trying to do it all yourself can leave you so busy and tired you wonder why you planned to host a party in the first place. My home in the center of town tends to be the focal point for parties, barbecues and other gatherings, so I am often busy hosting. But one thing is certain: I could never do it all myself!
In order to take off some of the stress of party planning, I get my closest friends involved. I invite them to come over early, usually a few hours before the party, and we divvy up all the tasks that need to be done: setting up, cooking, putting out plates, serving ware and glasses, placing the beer on ice, decorating the table, room or garden, and getting ourselves ready for the party. Doing this with friends is like getting the party started a little early—plus, alone time with some of your best friends allows ample to catch up. When all the details are set, we usually find time to pick out cute outfits, do last minute beauty touch ups and gossip as well.
For me, the preparations can be just as fun as the party itself!
